| DESCRIPTION |
|
An unrmed, glabrous, shrub or small tree, 2.5 m high, stem pale, striated, wood soft. Leaves 5-15 cm long, paripinnate, stipules lanceolate-subdulate, leaflets 8-20 pairs, oblong-lanceolate, apiculate, 1.2-2.5 * 0.3-0.6 cm, glabrous.

| PHARMACOGNOSY |
|
Leaf : Paripinnately compound, 5 - 15 cm long, rachis shortly produced above last pair of leaflet; paripinnate, leaflets 8 - 20 pairs, linear, oblong, glabrous, entire, mucronate to acuminate, very shortly stalked, 1.0 - 3.3 cm * 0.3 - 0.8 cm. Transverse section of rachis shows single layered epidremis followed by 2 - 3 layered collenchymatous and 4 - 7 layered round, thin - walled parenchymatous cells; vascular bundles arranged in a ring, having secretory cavities in phloem, each bundle covered externally with sclerenchymatous sheath, one smaller vascular bundle present in both the wings.
